SVH Project Deafblind requires support from you to bring the desired changes in the lives of children / adults with deafblindness and multiple disabilities.

You can be involved with them in many ways through your donations.


Vocational Unit

This unit of the  SVH Project Deafblind was started since 2010 at Deafblind  Resource centre, Tollygunge. The training enables the deafblind adults to develop skills which help to earn better livelihood in future. The individuals are being trained to prepare-

  • Paper Bag
  • Decorative Writing pad
  • Costume Jewelry
  • Decorative Photo frame
  • Coaster
  • Block printed handkerchiefs
  • Block printed table cloth

The half done products of pre-vocational activities like paper folder, book mark, envelop get final shape at the Vocational Unit.

The products made by  the individuals are showcased at various exhibitions

which give them an opportunity to aware the society of their abilities and thus become a productive member of the society.


Mithu Karmakar was invited by Sense International (India) to speak about her developments in a workshop on Livelihood Training in bHubaneswar. She, supported by Smriti Makar (In-Charge of the Vocational Unit), presented her journey towards Independence and Income Generation through power-point. Her achievements were much appreciated.

Project Deafblind received a grant from Punjab National Bank, Kolkata Zonal Head Office. This grant covered the expenditures of this unit for 4 months.
